Shut Mouths
“My God sent his angel and shut the lions' mouths.”
Daniel 6:22
Reflection
Something intended to consume him was simply held shut. Not every danger that opens its mouth is permitted to close it, and you will often only know that from the inside, after the night.
PRAY
Father, some nights I can do nothing but sit among the danger and wait. Shut what needs shutting. Where I cannot protect myself, be the protection I cannot see.
Amen.

Not everything that threatens me is permitted to touch me.
