Bread for the Enemy
“Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master.”
2 Kings 6:22
Reflection
The story ends with the captured army being fed rather than destroyed. Courage that stops at survival is incomplete; the last beat of real strength is what it refuses to do to someone at its mercy.
PRAY
God, when the fear finally lifts, keep me from becoming what frightened me. Give me the kind of courage that can afford mercy and still keep wise limits.
