On Broken Pieces
“The rest were to get there on planks or on broken pieces of the ship. And so it was that everyone reached land safely.”
Acts 27:44
Reflection
Nobody arrived on the ship. They arrived on its wreckage, holding whatever floated, and the text calls that safe. Survival is allowed to look undignified, and coming through in pieces still counts as coming through.
PRAY
God, I wanted to come through this intact and I am coming through it in pieces. Let me count that as rescue, and keep me from despising the way I got here.
Amen.
