For Such a Time
“Who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14
Reflection
Esther was safe, and the safety was the problem: staying quiet would have preserved her position and cost everyone else. Some fear is not fear of harm but fear of losing a comfortable place.
PRAY
God, I have been telling myself that silence is prudence. Show me honestly what my quiet is protecting, and give me the courage to spend some of it on someone who cannot speak for themselves.
Amen.
